ABOUT

          CAMPAIGN

HISTORY.

Since 2015, the S.T.R.A.P. Campaign, fueled by the passion of M.A.Z.E At The Crossroads (Subsidiary of MAZE Youth Advocacy), was founded by the remarkable Ms. Sandy Love, who is also a true survivor of sex trafficking. Because of her own experiences, Ms. Sandy has dedicated her life to creating long-term housing solutions for those escaping trafficking, mentoring juvenile youth and empowering youth to avoid the pathways of youth incarceration and life on the streets altogether. Her focus centers on youth 18 years old and under, with a heart to restore true social justice back to communities.

As a former United States veteran, Ms Sandy has tirelessly researched and gathered empirical evidence to educate governmental systems and the community on the innovative trafficking tactics used. Her journey began with a dedicated team of eight volunteers working with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD), where they conducted a comprehensive five-year study on youth in and out of detention centers and adult prisons. These findings have shed light on diverse areas of concern.

Empirical evidence highlights three crucial areas of concern (Pre and Post):

1. Awareness
2. Prevention
3. Predatory Exposure

Empirical evidence also suggests that Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory is applicable:

Levels of needs:

  • Safety needs: Security, stability, protection from harm.

  • Love and belonging needs: Social connection, intimacy, friendship, family.

  • Esteem needs: Self-respect, recognition, status, achievement.

  • Self-actualization needs: Fulfilling one's potential, personal growth, creativity

  • Physiological needs: Necessities like food, water, shelter, sleep.

Our Mental Health Component Centers On:

  • Tailored Mental Health Assessment

  • Multi-Disciplinary Therapy Approach

  • Mental/Behavioral Monitoring
